Rabbi Michal Woll

Rabbi Michal Woll joined Congregation Shir Shalom in July 2007. Raised in a vibrant Reform synagogue in Chicago, she began singing in formal Jewish settings at age 10 and still finds music to be her strongest link to our spiritual tradition. As an young adult she moved to Flagstaff, AZ where she discovered the joys of rural Jewish life and the connection between Judaism and the environment. Michal is excited to have this opportunity to help both broaden and deepen Jewish life and learning in the Woodstock area.

Rabbi Michal's professional journey began in the medical device industry where she developed a passion for issues involving medical ethics and quality of life. She later practiced physical therapy in acute care and geriatric facilities. This background has been integrated into her rabbinic training through internships in nursing home and hospital chaplaincy. Michal received rabbinic ordination in June 2007 from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
